Tomato Lady Soil Mix. Available for the first time in bags. Tomato lady soil mix is one of our most popular soil mixes for filling vegetable raised beds. It can also be used to fill flowerbeds. Many of our customers told us they wished it was available in bags. Here it is and on sale.
Triple Super Phosphate. Triple super phosphate is a 100% phosphate fertilizer. It has nothing else in it. Phosphoru is an important fertilizer to mix with the soil at the time of planting. To be effective, phosphorus should be close to the roots of plants either grown from seed or transplants. Phosphorus is important for many vegetables and fruit trees because it improves flowering and fruiting and speeds transplanting. Use it with herbs because it also improves oil production.
Mix N' Mulch. This Red Star product can be mixed with soil at the time of planting to improve drainage and aeration as well as apply it to the surface of the soil as a mulch. Mulch helps keep soils cool, reduces evaporation of water from around the roots, prevents weed seeds from germinating and improves the quality of soil as it breaks down over time.
Palmer/Prelude Perennial Ryegrass Seed. This perennial rye grass seed has been the dominant heat tolerant perennial rye seed blend of all time in the hot desert West. Unlike tall fescue which can be "itchy" to some people, Palmer/Prelude perennial rye is soft to the touch and can the mode as close as 3/8 inch with a reel mower. Use 8 to 10 pounds to cover 1000 ft.² when seeding a new lawn.
Turf Type Tall Fescue Seed. Turf type tall fescue is planted in 95% of our home residential lawns. It is tough and drought resistant. It should be mowed no closer than 1 1/2 inches and up to 2 1/2 inches giving this grass a very lush appearance. Use 10 to 12 pounds of seed to cover 1000 ft.² when seeding a new lawn.
