Water Soluble Sulfur Lowers Soil pH Fast

Sulfur granules remaining on top of the soil three years after applying it to the soil surface.

This is a major problem with granular sulfur. It can sit there for years after an application.

What is Disper-sul?

Remember this product because of its hyphenation: disper and sul. The disper stands for dispersible and the sul stands for sulfur. And that's what it is, it removes one of the major problems when applying sulfur products to the soil to lower pH and alkalinity.

When using granular sulfur the sulfur can sit on the soil surface for years and never dissolve or disintegrate. Disper-sul contains 90% sulfur combined with bentonite clay and wetting agents. This assures you that the finely ground sulfur will dissolve in water into very tiny particles which makes the lowering of soil pH much faster.

Apply Disper-sul to dry lawns or mix it into the garden soils. Watering lawns and garden soils after its application causes the sulfur to disperse and react with wet soils to reduce soil pH.

Apply 20 to 30 pounds of Disper-sul as a dry product for each 1000 square feet of lawn or garden. The exact rate depends on your starting pH. If you have a good soil then use 20 lb. If you have an unamended native soil then use 30 lb. You cannot over apply it to bare soil.

Because it disperses in water, it can also be applied mixed with water in a spray. When applying it to a lawn as a liquid spray or the leaves of any plant, never apply more than 4 pounds in 1000 square feet of lawn. Do not apply to lawns or plant leaves when they are wet or when temperatures are above 85° F.
